Different Business Cards increase productivity

Business Cards can have many functions, but as you know multi-functionality is bad for quality. Having different Business Cards for different people solves that problem.

If you have a 2 in 1 business then not only you will have less time to deal with each part separately and won’t be able to concentrate on quality, but sometimes those parts will need totally different machinery, raw material, approaches etc, which will further decrease your productivity.

Same goes for business cards. Business cards can be multi-functional but if you think you can stuff them with loads of information and it will only increase their productivity then you, my friend, are wrong. The less stuff there is, the easier it will be to read and understand. And let’s not forget that you can’t physically place all of your content on a small piece of paper. But as much of this information is important, we can’t just leave most of it out. So why not to create different business cards for different occasions and people?

Why different and for who? Businesses have clients, potential clients, affiliate businesses, delivery services and other people they have to deal with. Business cards are in many cases the best way to communicate important information, but as you know it’s only a 92 X 54 mm piece of paper(or plastic, metal, wood, rubber etc). So we have to analyze what information and to who we want to communicate.

For example your regular clients don’t need to know your location, as they probably have already visited your business several times, so there is no need in including a map on the back side of the business card. But maybe you want to include a price list of different services you have instead? When you think of what information and features should be on your business card, first think who is this card meant to be given, then about what actions you would like for this person to take and lastly come up with a list of things your business card needs so that the contact would act in the way you want.Let us do this right now…

You definitely have potential clients who you want to turn into regular customers. And it would be good to make them visit your website where they will see your products, reviews, prices and can find the contact information. So place your website address. Include only the domain name and make sure that navigation to the exact page you want them to go is simple. No one will want to type a long somedomain.com/somethingsomething/moresomething address.

Don’t forget to put a slogan on the card, probably a picture of your product or a photo of you would be also useful for grabbing your future clients attention. If you have great prices then maybe it would be a good idea to include some price info of your services on the back of the card. This way your potential clients will be well informed of most of your products or services.

Hopefully you have some regular customers too. You don’t need to convert them into buyers because they already use your services, but what you want is to make ordering and delivering products as easy as possible for them. It also wouldn’t hurt if they would use more of your services.

So if in your business your clients for example have to send you packages, place you address on the card. Don’t remember to put a price or service list on the back of the business card, so they would have an overview of the products you have.

Update your business cards regularly. If you create a new service, change prices, have some wholesale offers or any additional information, print out new cards and for example bring them to your clients personally. Say that you were nearby and thought you bring your updated business card to them. Surely they will appreciate that you remembered them.

Delivery services come to my mind as in my last job I had to deal almost every day with some work being sent to our customers. Often I had to explain where our firm was located. And one way to eliminate this problem would be to hand out to them a business card with contact information and maybe a map on the backside. So next time they won’t forget the location.

Be creative. The more unique each of your different type of business cards is, the more attention, interest, positive feedback and most of all customers and sales it will attract.
