Overview

Our advanced website lets you set up variables in your design and later upload a mailing list, that will populate the variables in your design from our shopping cart. Each card will be printed with your recipient's information. We will print it and ship to you.

How can I use Variable Data

For example: Imagine that you want to create 50 Birthday invitations online. You want each invitation to have a recipient’s name, address and custom message in the front your invitations. You would like to mail the invitations yourself. Variable Data is the solution you are looking for.

Setup Your Variables in your design

From the Online Editing Tool, you will need to set a variable for each column of data you want to print on the card. Each variable will need to be built in {brackets} with no spaces or symbols. Here is an example of variables you might use.

1. {Attention}
2. {StreetAddress}
3. {City}
4. {State}
5. {ZipCode}

Of course your data file may not match this exactly, so you can modify the fields according to your file.

Variables can be placed on the front & back side of the Postcards.

Where to find the upload link?

To upload your file in Excel or CSV format from your shopping cart or saved projects; Variable Data projects will show a "Qty" link under project options in the shopping cart or saved projects. Click the "Edit" link and you will be directed to Advanced Options interface. The quantity that will be printed will be determined by the quantity from your data file.

Create/Manage Your Data File

If you have your own Excel/CSV file already created, you can load it by clicking on the "Upload Data File" button. A pop-up will open. Make sure to turn off your browser pop-up blocker.

Uploading your data file

Our interface offers two ways to upload your data. The first option allows you to upload your data in Excel or CSV (Comma Separated Value). The second option allows you to upload RAW data (John^123-1234^Chicago).
